DISTRICT WEST

Scope of Work: 

The District West project encompassed:​​​​

• Land Clearing and Grading:

  • Cleared over 18 acres of land on a site with extensive muck deposits.

  • Hauled off over 7,000 cubic yards of muck.

  • Over 185,000 cubic yards of clean fill were imported to prepare the site for development.

• Roadway and Paving:

  • Over 9,500 square yards of asphalt, including base and subbase layers, were installed for internal roadways and parking areas.

• Retaining Wall Installation:

  • Over 500 linear feet of retaining wall were constructed, with an average depth of 8.5 feet, to stabilize the site and support structural integrity.

• Utility Infrastructure:

  • Installed a new lift station.

  • Laid over 700 linear feet of 8-inch force main and over 1,300 linear feet each of 4-inch force main and 8-inch gravity sewer.

  • Over 800 linear feet of 6-inch sewer laterals were installed to support the site’s wastewater management system.

• Stormwater Management:

  • Installed over:

    • 200 linear feet of 15-inch RCP.

    • 600 linear feet of 18-inch RCP.

    • 900 linear feet of 24-inch RCP.

    • 300 linear feet of 30-inch RCP.

    • 50 linear feet of 36-inch RCP.

    • 100 linear feet of 66-inch RCP.

  • Constructed 32 new inlet and manhole structures for effective stormwater management.

• Water Distribution System:

  • Over 1,700 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main were installed to ensure reliable water distribution for the complex.

Key Highlights:​​​

• Transformed a challenging muck-filled site into a stable, build-ready location through expert clearing and fill operations.

• Delivered a complete stormwater and utility infrastructure system to meet the needs of a large-scale apartment complex.

• Coordinated closely with Summit Contracting Group to ensure the project remained on schedule and met all quality and regulatory requirements.

• Installation of a 230kV transmission line to documents and specifications.

Impact on the Community:
The District West project supports the growth of affordable and modern housing in Orlando, providing a well-designed and expertly prepared site for a new apartment complex. DCFL’s work ensured the site’s long-term stability and functionality, contributing to the area’s continued development and appeal.
